Today’s Reading:
Ps 118:1-2, 19-29 (1)
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever”. (v.1)

There is nothing we can use to quantify the love of God to His children. He loves the whole world that He gave His only begotten Son to die for our redemption. What a loving father! The psalmist enumerates his personal experiences of mercy which ranges from divine intervention in times of distress, victory over foes; His forgiveness; answers to prayers; His redemptive power; His miraculous acts which could only be accomplished by God. Hence, he saw the need to give praise to God.
Like the psalmist, how often do you remember God’s enduring love over your life and family? Have you considered yourself unworthy of His salvation but for His enduring love! This made Him to bear with us even when we act against His divine instruction. He offers us forgiveness for free. He redeemed our souls from hell and endows us with several good things of life we do not even deserve. We need to be appreciative of His love towards us. Whoever has the ability to think should cultivate the habit of giving thanks to God. A song writer says “when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me, my very soul shall shout hallelujah! Praise God for saving me”. Remember, you do not merit God’s goodness but for His enduring love. As you rise up today give thanks to God and appreciate Him with a song for His faithful love which endures forever.
