Reconciled Relationship with God Through Jesus Christ

Today’s Reading:

Romans 5:1-11 (8)

"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ dies for us." (v.8)

We thank God for our justification by faith. Because we have given our lives to Christ, we have peace with God through him and have grace to approach the throne of God. What a great privilege!

Our peace with God is not mere feeling of peace of mind or the internal sense of calmness and serenity; but external unspeakable joy. Our status with God changed in that we have a renewed relationship with God. Once, because of our Adamic nature, we were alienated from God, but now we are his friend and children. We can approach his throne of grace, boldly but humbly, in the name of Jesus and asked for whatever, in the name of Jesus and believe we have received it (v.1, 10; Eph.2:16; Col.1:21-22).

At rebirth, the Holy Spirit poured his love in our hearts and his presence is always within us.

The mystery from which true godliness springs is great (1Tim.3:16). How Christ came in human flesh may be mystery to us; but the love of God is not. Why would God's son come to live among us and die for our sins? It is in demonstration of God's love towards us, in that while we were still sinners he died for our sins. God possess a self-giving nature of love which always act in our best interest, even his enemies.

Also, the challenges we go through because of the name of Jesus has spiritual benefits - we are able to endure tremendous burden and pressure without succumbing (v.3; 15:5; Col.1:22-23; 2Thes.1:4; Rev.14:12). We are able to glory in tribulation because of what the troubles produce in our lives (v.4). In all, the love of God is lavishly poured in our hearts to overflowing.

  1. Father, thank you for giving your only Son as demonstration of your love for me; blood of Jesus flow into my blood system and flush out every filth, contamination and inherited evil deposit, in Jesus name.

  2. You my prayer altar become untouchable coals of fire, in Jesus name.

  3. O God arise in your power with thunder and bring your judgement of fire upon every occult altar working contrary to your plan for my life, in Jesus name.

  4. Father uproot everything you have not planted in your church and revive your Pentecostal fire and power, in Jesus name.

  5. Father, thank you for sustaining Nigeria with your power and fire. Give our leaders fresh hopes, inspiration, revelation and direction to move the nation to the next level. Let there be love, peace and harmony of purpose, in Jesus name.
