Today’s Reading:
Exodus 7:7
Moses was a leader in Israel and his people (Israelites) would never forget him even up to this present Israel. He demonstrated a quality prophetic and leadership role in Israel. He stood in the gap between Israel and God. He represented Israel before God and brought back to Israel the response of God, and he eventually led them out of Egypt to the Promised Land which was accomplished by Joshua.
This is what Moses did all through his ministry. He was not given the title “Prophet”, but he forth-told and foretold for Israel. Age did not affect the forth-telling of Moses’ ministry unlike today that people get retired at a certain age. It is clear from this Bible verse that, there is no age limit for anyone called to the service of God.
Three important things are needed to take note of here.
(1) Moses forth-told in the old age – he served as a servant of God even when he got old.
(2) He ministered in a foreign land – a missionary to the land of Egypt and he did not compromise his faith.
(3) He stood before King Pharaoh. None of these stages stopped him to fulfill God’s purpose for his life. Moses is to be emulated.
