Today’s Reading:

Psalm 53

The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encamped against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them. Oh, that the salvation of Israel was come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

A fool is someone without good sense of judgement, unwise, imprudent, silly, unserious, senseless, similar to an idiot or robot. The first verse of the passage for our consideration says The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. So, this is what God has called the enemy of your progress in faith, fulfilment, accomplishments of your God given future and joy which is exactly what it's being experienced in our country today through all sorts of insincere political leaders funding banditry, kidnapping, human parts trafficking, organ harvesting, money rituals, rape of both young and old boys and girls, killings, fraudulent activities and... Using one of the best tools of the enemy which is creating fear in the heart of the people and even children of God according to verse5 of today's passage 'There were they in great fear, where no fear was ...'

  1. They create fear in the heart of God's children (standing for God, with God, by God, in God)

  2. Children of God are even afraid to sleep, to eat, to talk, to walk freely (associate with others)

  3. People are afraid at work, even in the church (or house of God) religious gathering.

But 'for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.' Are you terrified by some seen or unseen powers terrorising you physically and or in your dreams? Are you afraid of taking that bold leap out of that situation? 2king 4:1-7 gave an account of a servant of God who laboured and died struggling to make ends meet and left behind debts and the same vicious cycle continued over his wife and children! Remember John 10:10; The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

But the wife cried out to God through prophet Elisha:

'Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.’ (May heaven hear your voice when you call and send help to rescue, to deliver and to save you from the ultimate plan of the enemy.)

Are you relegated, stranded, oppressed, suppressed and trampled underfoot anywhere you go?

Please cry aloud just as this certain woman cried, yes no one knows your name but God does, though help may seem far, but God is nearer and will help.

OLUWOLE OTEMADE

Prayer:

  1. Thank You Lord for the word of life sent to open my eyes to see and revive, restore, to heal and to save me.

  2. 'God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.' (v.2).

  3. Father Lord, help me to adequately understand and seek you more, also help me to understand the time, to observe and have a better insight of your word, in Jesus’ name.

  4. Father Lord, send help to rescue me from every concluded plan of the enemy, in Jesus’ name.

  5. O Lord, scatter and destroy the plans of the enemy of this nation; render their efforts futile, powerless in Jesus’ name.

  6. By the power in the blood of Jesus, we render null and void, every tormenting power in this nation, asking where is our God? O Lord, let them be disgraced and put to shame, in Jesus’ name.
