Today’s Reading:
Daniel 9: 15-25a
"And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;"
(v. 20)
You may want to know who an intercessor is? They are persons who pray, petition, or beg God in favour of another person, nation ,things, circumstances etc. From the Bible point of view, an intercessor is one who stands between God's judgement and His people and pleads for mercy. ARE YOU SUCH A PERSON?
"The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among then, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none" Ezekiel 22:29-30. That says it all. Have we ever wondered why this is lacking? I tell you, it’s our selfishness, our self-centredness, our Adamic nature of Isolating interest of "Mr flesh". Aren’t we all guilty?”
However, we should follow the footsteps of God's beloved because we are new creatures in Christ Jesus. Examples abound in the Bible: Abraham intercessor (stood in gap) for a whole nation. Gen 18: 22-33. Daniel ; Moses on several occasions; Elizabeth 1 King 18; our Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate intercessor. He did the work that no man could do. He offered his body as sacrifice for the sin of humanity, making intercession between the father and his creation 2 Cor.5:19-20). 1 Tim.2:1 says "I exhort, therefore ,that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;"
And the Holy Spirit, our guide, the Comforter, that searches our hearts, makes intercession for us. Romans 8:26-27. WILL YOU BE AN INTERCESSOR GOD IS LOOKING FOR? It comes with great reward; it makes you special and a favourite of God. It gives you great power over your challenges in life. In this day, time and season, will you not arise and stand in the gap? We need to intercede for our nation ,against bad and wicked rulers; for our family (their salvation and protection); for the Body of Christ (the Church, against persecutions, injustice) and that the Gospel of the kingdom shall continue to expand.
However, you can't be a success in this area unless you have Jesus as your Lord and saviour.

Prayer:
O God Arise and help me to be a great intercessor, in Jesus name.
Anything inside of me that wants me to live a useless life, die, in Jesus name.
I shall be a vessel unto honour in Your vineyard, in Jesus name.
Arise O God and defend your interest in the lives of the Saints, in Jesus name.
We claim our nation for Christ, let the Prince of Peace reign over our affairs, in Jesus name.
