THE LORD IS ALWAYS READY FOR HIS OWN

Today’s Reading:

Judges 3:7-11; Luke 4::42-44

“And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them” (Luke 4: 42)

Many a times, we see ourselves leaving the presence of God and trusting in our own flesh (Judges 3:7). Even when He calls out to us, we seldom respond to His call because we are carried away by the cares of this world. At times, we find ourselves wanting to come back to Him but seems like all odds are against our going back to Him (Matt 26: 41). While at times, we deliberately do not want to stop the things that satisfies our earthly desires because of the pleasure we get from these things. It is not difficult to see believers today whose ways of life are contradicting to exactly what the Bible says it should be, but the Lord is telling us today that He is always readily available whenever we come to Him and say of our own we can do nothing, whenever we show our weakness to Him and tell Him we are nothing in His hand, He is willing and always ready to save His own (Judges 3:9-10).

Some of the things that takes us away from God includes:

  1. Evil which could be in form of idol worship, idol in the heart, backbiting, stealing, wore mongering and so on (Judges 3:7)

  2. Cares of this world which include what to eat, drink, what to wear, our looks, treasures of the world and so on (Luke 21:34-36)

  3. Negligence and selfishness (James 3:16, Proverbs 18:2, Rev 3:15-16)

However, the Lord will always come through for His own when we do the following:

  • Seeking for Him in places where we know we are faulted; He will not depart from us there (Luke 4:42).

  • Knowing that He is and will always be readily available for us whenever we cry into Him for help (Psalm 34:4, Gal 5:1, Psalm 34:17)

  • Turning away from evil (2 Chron 7:14, 1 John 1:9).

FAITH ADEGOR

Prayer:

  1. Father, I acknowledge today that You are God over my life, help me in areas of my weakness and help know You are always willing to help me, in Jesus name.

  2. Father take away everything acting as limitation between me and my knowing you, in Jesus name.

  3. I speak the word of God’s light into my life, and I overcome every sin, idol, cares of this world besetting me, in Jesus name.

  4. The Church of God is moving forward, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, in Jesus name.
