Today’s Reading:
Jeremiah 5:1 – 17
“Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad a place thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, b that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. (Jeremiah 5:1)

Just like the time God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and He requested a righteous person so that the destruction would be reversed, in like manner God told Jeremiah to roam through Jerusalem and look for even one person who does justice and seeks truth. If such a person is found, God would pardon the city. But instead, the people swore falsely and refused correction, showing stubborn hearts. Jeremiah thought the common people were ignorant, but when he turned to the leaders, he found they too had rejected God. Both high and low in society have shunned righteous living, and even the clergy are not spared. Because of this rebellion, judgment is coming in the form of destruction compared to lions, wolves, and leopards—symbols of enemies who will attack.
We are also in a very terrible period in the history of Christianity. Hardly will you find an Individual who can be trusted with managing your business in your absence. Insincerity and lies have pervaded our society, even the churches. In the early seventies, there was a denomination in Nigeria that organisations turned to when they needed a trusted person who could be saddled with money. They maintained the integrity for a while until a multitude joined the church, and the name of Christ was soiled. Where did we miss it? The Christ the Apostles served is still the same, and he hasn’t changed, but we have changed.
The eyes of God are still running to and fro today, looking for a vessel to use. He needs someone in the education sector. He needs an accountant who hasn’t soiled his garment to join the financial institutions of nations. He is still searching for an upright doctor and other health practitioners who will sanitise our health sector. Where are the righteous caterers, journalists, bricklayers, builders, surveyors, teachers, business owners, sales boys and girls, house helps, caregivers and service providers? Are you available and useful for God in this corrupt generation? I have made up my mind as an administrator, counsellor, teacher and pastor to represent Christ wherever I find myself, and be faithful in all that is committed into my hands, heaven is my witness. What about you?
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully seek out a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor, or priest.
Prayer:
Father, forgive me of all I have done to bring shame to your name.
Empower me to live a righteous life in Jesus’ name.
Let there be revival in all sectors and parastatals of the nation in Jesus’ name.
Let thy kingdom come, oh Lord.
Lord, I am available in this end time, let me glorify you, in Jesus’ name.
