REPENT AND BE SAVED

Today’s Reading:

JOHN 3:14-21 (Acts 2:38

“Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

The truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that there is no more condemnation to those that are in Him, who believe and accept Him as their Lord and Saviour, while those who choose not to believe are already condemned. Not that they will be condemned but that they have already got their final judgement of condemnation. However, if today they choose to wake up and shake off their unbelief there is still room for them to be accommodated and be saved.

It is important for us to know that God is not thinking of what to do with those who refused Christ; rather, His mind is already made up. They are condemned and are only waiting till the final day of execution. The verdict against them can still be reversed for them to be discharged and acquitted if they believe that Christ died and rose from the dead and that He is the Saviour of the world. What happened to the thief on the cross with Christ can happen to them (Luke 23:41-43). God is rich in mercy and no matter how sinful a person maybe, as long as he repent and forsakes his evil ways, God will forgive him (Act 3:19).

Your attendance at Church or being born into a Christian family is no visa for salvation but your personal confession of Christ as your Saviour and Lord is the only way out of condemnation(Romans 10:10).

I admonish you today, if you are not sure of your position you are, to accept the provision of His death and resurrection and confess that you believe by living a life that substantiates your confession.
