“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” These are the words of Elie Wiesel. It should serve as our motivation to seek justice for ourselves and for others today.
We can all do something to change the corruption in our society. Maybe not totally but as best as we can. The young Daniel allowed himself to be led by the Holy Spirit to raise alarm before an innocent woman (Susanna) was stoned to death. Also, Jesus, in his wisdom, convicted the accusers of the adulterous woman with the bold but simple truth that no one is so innocent that they should condemn anyone else. What can you do today in your little corner to see that justice prevails in the world?
Pray for grace to say NO to sin and wrong choices;
Speak up against whatever you know is wrong (you might save someone's life);
Allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit (begin each day be invoking Him);
Let your life of good deeds convict others of their wrong-doing;
Do not submit to the power of evil or become a party to darkness no matter the pressure;
Do not be afraid even when you are surrounded by temptations to take the easy way out.
Listen to and take good advice but run away from bad influences;
Always remember that evil has its hour but good will take the day;
The fate of all who do evil shall not be good if they fail to repent;
Be patient for as long as it takes because you will be victorious in the end. Amen.
