YOUR SEASON OF TEAR IS OVER

Today’s Reading:

Luke 7:11-16; Psalm 30:5

“And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep”

(Luke 11:13)

Sometimes, the devil may bring one to a point of standstill, where you think the end has come. It is usually a moment of despair, discouragement and hopelessness. Such times may also come with experience of anxiety, sorrow, pains, suffering, loneliness, or abandonment. However, the good news is that God has also set a time for a supernatural turnaround in the life of His people. The story of the widow of Nain reveals that the moment Christ steps into a situation, there is usually a visible solution.

When Christ is involved in your situation tears will give way for Joy. “Tears in the evening persist through the night, but morning brings a cry of joy” (Psalm 30: 5 TMB). When you put your trust in Jesus, He can give you joy unlimited and joy unspeakable. It is also clear from the story in our text that message of hope replaces condition of sorrow. “Then He walked out to the coffin and touch it and the bearers stopped, “Young man, he said, I tell you, get up” (Luke 7:14b). His power can also rescue and deliver you from every cage of death, failure, fear and spiritual backwardness in the name of Jesus. With Jesus in your situation, you can also experience a supernatural turnaround. “Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk; And Jesus gave her back to his mother” (Luke 7:15a). I believe that whatever is considered dead in your life shall receive life again. You must also trust Jesus’ power to restore everything the devil has stolen from you.

Further from the story of the widow in our text, Jesus has the power to change your story and give you a new name. “Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, saying, “A mighty Prophet has risen among us, and God has visited His people today” (Luke 7: 16a). This widow started her journey with tears but ended in praise. Your present challenging situation shall also end in praise. Joy is what we experience when our sufficiency gives out and His sufficiency takes over. The experience of joy does not come from us, it comes to us. It isn’t what we do, it’s something God does. No wonder, the intervention of Jesus changed the story of the widow. What she had thought had no solution ended up receiving the supernatural manifestation. If you will put your trust in Him and hold on to His promises, this same Jesus will also step into your situation and dry your tears. He is too faithful to fail you.
