Today’s Reading:
Psalm 125
Ephesians 6:10-17
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of his might”. (Ephesians 6:10, NIV)
This short psalm may be summed up in those words of the prophet - Isaiah 3:10-11, “Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him. for they shall eat the fruit of their doings: 11) Woe unto the wicked! it shall be well with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.” Thus, are life and death, the blessing and the curse, set before us often in the Psalms, as well as in the law and the prophets. It is certainly well with the people of God; for they have the promises of a good God that they shall be fixed and safe (vv. 1-2), and not always under the hatches (v.3). It is certainly ill with the wicked, and particularly with the apostates (v.5).
Here is a general exhortation to constancy in our Christian course, and to encourage in our Christian warfare. Is not our life warfare? It is so; for we struggle with the common calamities of human life. Is not our religion much more a warfare? It is so; for we struggle with the opposition of the powers of darkness, and with many enemies who would keep us from God and heaven. We have enemies to fight against, a captain to fight for, a banner to fight under, and certain rules of war by which we are to govern ourselves (Eph.6:10-17).
Spiritual strength and courage are very necessary for our spiritual warfare. Be strong in the Lord, either in His cause and for His sake or rather in His strength. But those that wait on the Lord, who are conscious of their duty to Him, and by faith rely upon Him and commit themselves to his guidance, shall find that God will not fail them (Isaiah 40:31). With God, victory is sure. We will conquer all enemies and win all battles of your life. Be persistent in righteous living, your victory is sure.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud: Father, thank you for Jesus Christ. Forgive my sins, take control of my heart and lead me in your righteous path by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Lord. Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Hold not Your peace, O God of my praise. For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me; they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
Father, I declare that my help comes from You. You will not allow my foot to slip. You are my keeper and You do not slumber or sleep. You are the shade on my right hand. You will protect me from all evil. You will keep my life and guard my going out and my coming in forever, in Jesus' name.
My Father, create in me a clean heart, renew a right and humble spirit within me, in Jesus' name. Come and contest with the enemies of my soul.
Father, this year and beyond, we keep our children in Your secret place; let them abide under the shadow of the Almighty, in Jesus' name.
My Father, my Father, deliver Your Church from the snare of the Fowler, in Jesus' name.
O Lord my Father, your presence will not depart from my family, in Jesus' name.
O Lord our God, wrestle with the enemies of our nation, in Jesus' name.
