WRATH AND BLESSING: TWO SIDES OF GOD

Today’s Readings:

Psalm 50:1-8, 22-23, Isa. 1:2-9, 21-23, Matt. 6:19-24

As danger has two sides with one sharpened and harmful; the other is dull and easy to play with. So, also wrath can come from God at the same time His blessing can overwhelm his people. The mighty and good God relates with his children as father from heaven showing them his good side and destructive side for them to choose the one they want. God is a merciful Father who will not take delight in the bitterness of his children – he always rallies round them to establish their better life experience. As he relates to us as his children, he tells us the dos and don’ts of his relationship – Anyone who chooses to neglect God will be inflicted with wrath of God, people who shun his parenthood and turn back against Him will surely face the thick darkness of this world and the world to come.

Anyone who maintains testimony as a child of God will not be harmed with the danger of wrath dangling around by Satan with approval through sin. “See how the faithful city has become a prostitute! She once was full of justice: righteousness used to dwell in her – but now murderers! (Isa. 1:21). The word “murderers” spoils the good testimony above and verses 22-23 reveal the aftermath of the city. Therefore, work to gain eternity and to gain rest forever.
