Rev 14:1-5

Psalm 24:1-6

Luke 21:1-4

Did you truly follow Christ in 2024? Can you sincerely say that honouring God was the biggest factor in your decisions last year? We erroneously believe that "all is well that ends well" for us (at least from an earthly point of view). While things might turn out well for you on this side of eternity, heaven plays by a separate set of rules, ones that you did not set for yourself.

There in front of the throne they were singing a new hymn in the presence of the four animals and the elders, a hymn that could only be learnt by the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the world; they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they have been redeemed from amongst men to be the first-fruits for God and the Lamb. They never allowed a lie to pass their lips and no fault can be found in them. Revelation 14:2-5

The disciples of Christ, those that are judged worthy of a place in th=]

#e resurrection of the righteous, play by a different set of rules even as they navigate the murky waters and 'poto-poto' of this world.

  • Their hearts are filled with love for God.

  • Their courage is fired by the flames of the Holy Spirit.

  • Their choices are guided by goodness, divine beauty and truth.

  • They believe in the power of prayer.

  • They are generous even when they are struggling just like the widow in the Gospel (Luke 21:1-4).

  • They would rather lay down their lives than sin.

  • They choose modesty over worldly standards of style and popularity.

  • They are more interested in doing what is right than keeping up appearances.

  • They respect the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.

  • They spend their time, talent and resources in spreading the faith.

  • They risk mockery and ridicule for the sake of their faith.

  • They always tell the truth even when it comes at a personal cost.

  • They honour their promises and vows no matter how challenging it gets.

  • They know that God comes first, others come second and they come last.

  • They do not solve their problems by drowning them in liquor or substance abuse.

  • They believe in the dignity of honest labour.

  • They love and honour family values and seek to hand them on to their children.

Those who do all these are the league of the 144,000 (part of the perfect followers of God). They are the true Toppers in every sense of the word. A Topper makes God his or her topmost priority. Jesus says to such persons; "Even if you have to die, says the Lord, keep faithful, and I will give you the crown of life." (Revelation 2:10). Make a personal decision today to be guided by heavenly standards and not by the whims and caprices of this world.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour and our Master. I pray for your child who at this moment sincerely desires you but is afraid of the consequences of their decision. Help them to see that full and lasting joy only comes from serving you faithfully. Strengthen them against the empty threats and promises of the devil and His angels. Set their feet on solid ground through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

  2. Dear Topper, this week is blessed for you in Jesus' name. You shall seek and find, you shall sow and reap goodness, and you shall rise and stand firm. Honour God and you shall be exalted forever through Christ our Lord. Amen.
