Today’s Reading:
Luke 22:31-33, 54-62
Memory Verse: And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (Luke 22:31-32)

What armies and kings could not do, the prayers of a mother accomplished. Susanna Wesley never stood on a great pulpit, but through her prayers, she shaped two men who changed the world. John Wesley became the founder of the Methodist movement, preaching to thousands and igniting revival across England and America. Charles Wesley became one of the greatest hymn writers in history, giving us songs, we still sing today.
The power of prayer cannot be quantified. Satan desired to destroy Peter, to shake him until nothing was left. But prayer became a shield. Jesus didn’t stop the test from coming, but through prayer, He stopped Peter’s faith from failing. Prayer doesn’t always remove battles, but it gives strength to overcome them. Peter was bold with his words, “I will never deny You.” Yet, he denied Jesus three times. His human will fail, but the prayer of Jesus carried him through. Our strength alone will not stand against the devil; it is prayer that anchors us. Imagine Jesus didn’t pray for Peter, what would have become of him and his exploits?
Many have been shaken and slaughtered on the devil’s altar because no one was praying for them. Many destinies are still standing not because of personal strength, but because someone prayed. Who is praying for you? Your answer to this question determines how far you will go in life. Though the place of having a personal and strong prayer altar cannot be quantified either, when you have someone who is also standing in the gap for you, some issues of life will be easy. Intercession opens doors that no demon can shut. The devil may desire to sift us, but prayer determines the outcome. When men plot our fall, when Satan schemes our destruction, the prayers lifted over us by Christ, by our parents, by intercessors, or by ourselves become the difference between failure and restoration.
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayers:
Oh Lord Jesus, pray for me so that the devil will not finish me.
Strengthen my prayer life, oh Lord.
Lord Jesus, raise great intercessors for your church in a time like this.
Power waiting to waste my destiny at every junction of life, die in Jesus’ name.
My destiny shall not be shattered in Jesus’ name.
