WHO IS A FOOL?

Today’s Reading:

Psalm 53:1-6

“Only the fool says in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! (Psalm 53:1 NLT)

A fool is someone who shows lack of good sense. It is a person having showing signs of being in an abnormal state of mind. No wonder the psalmist says, “It’s only a fool that says in his heart, there is no God”. Fool is also someone who lacks spiritual understanding about God, His works, or His activities. Those who call themselves free thinkers are company of fools. Since they have decided not to acknowledge God in their thinking. Anybody who also refuses to acknowledge God in his success or achievement is also a fool – Luke 12:16-20. A fool’s heart only thinks about himself and people and not God. He has a discriminated relationship with God. In addition, a fool can also be referred to as a wicked man. Since a man without God can be quick to do evil.

The scripture also termed a fool as a wicked man, ”………. They are proud to seek God” – Psalm 10:4. The fools think they can continue in their folly forever. However, the word of God says” God punishments awaits a wicked man” also destruction awaits the evil people too – Psalm 10:15.

It is ignorance or spiritual blindness that makes a man think he doesn’t need God in his life. This is a great sin against God. Without God your life is totally empty. You are like a disconnected branch from a tree that will soon wither away – john 15:5. Are you the fools the psalmist is talking about? If you can just stop for a moment and consider the creation of life, moon, stars, sun, ocean and the entire universe then you will understand that there is a greater force controlling it beyond human imagination. The ultimate controller is no other person but God.

God is ready is forgive you and your ignorance if you can come back to Him in true repentance, confessing your sins before Him and ask Him to be your Lord and personal Saviour and He will come into your life. He will accept you and give you a new understanding about Himself. “If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation old things are passed away. Behold all things become new” – 2Corinthians 5:17. God’s loving hand is stretched out wide open to save you, if only you will surrender your all to Him. “If you come to Him, just as you are, He will not cast you out. – John 6:37. He will give you freedom over sin, the blood of JESUS will be more than sufficient to forgive your sins and make you whole.

Prayer:

1. Father, forgive me my lack of understanding of who you are, in Jesus name.

2. Father, give me a clear understanding of your workings in the affairs of men, in Jesus name.

3. Father, create in me a new heart that will be committed to serving you wholeheartedly, in Jesus name.

4. Father, please plant your fear in the heart of our national leaders, in Jesus name.

5. Father, deal with every satanic activity that will hinder your church from serving you effectively, in Jesus name.
