Today’s Reading:
Hebrews 9:11-28
"It is appointed unto man to die once and after this is judgement." (v. 27)
Death is inevitable. It is a common debt that everybody must pay. It is sure that everybody will die but when and how it will happen, nobody knows. This is the crucial reason why you need to get prepared. Dear friends, journey with me as l share with you a true life story of a young man who had a very bright future but embarked on the journey he never prepared for, unfortunately he didn’t return.
John grew up in a family of three. He was the last born and the pride of his parents. He was very sound academically; in fact, if you qualify him as a genius you have not missed it. He finished his primary education at the prime age of 8. Favour smiled on him; by 14 he had completed his post-primary education. His first WAEC result was superb. What a pride for the family! In fact, the “Almighty JAMB” was an easy ride for him as he scored 380. He was the best overall national candidate for that year. He was offered scholarship in the school of his choice among other goodies he enjoyed. What an enviable, young and dynamic boy! The result he had in school was unbeatable. He was always the cynosure of all eyes. He enjoyed the accolades of both the lecturers and the students. Being the pride of everybody, he was introduced to partying by friends and before long he kept girlfriends. John never lacked girls around him since the girls will be bragging among themselves that they are going out with a “star”.
One fateful day, John embarked on a journey that he never knew it will end his ambition abruptly. He went for a night party during which thieves came to operate and some guys were killed. Lo and behold, John was a victim. He handed down his unbeatable and enviable dreams to the cold hands of death. The news spread like wildfire on campus. The most painful thing was that prior to that time, John had been preached to. The preaching centred on giving his life to Christ but he turned a deaf ear. The question is: where has he gone to?
Friends, do you know that there is life after death? How prepared are you now if death comes knocking at your door? "It is appointed unto man to die once and after this is judgement." Heb. 9:27. You have only one life to live after this you will face your creator. This is the time to surrender all to Christ. Remember the Lord in the days of your youth when the evil day has not come (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for Your death at Calvary, in Jesus name.
I will not miss eternity, in Jesus name
For as many walking on the path of hell, Lord save them in Jesus name.
Every member of my family who are yet to know Christ, the Lord will meet them today, in Jesus name.
I bind and cast out every spirit causing seduction, false doctrine, deception, hypocrisy, pride and error, in Jesus name.
O Lord let our leaders be filled with divine understanding and wisdom, in Jesus name.
