Matthew 7:21,24-27
"You are getting old o!" That's the new slogan I have become inundated with. Whenever someone tells me I am getting old, I remind them that I am drawing closer to heaven. It sounds harsh and definitive, but it is the truth and there is nothing better to remind oneself of than the reality of heaven. Jesus has a special message for all who aspire to heaven: ‘It is not those who say to me, “Lord, Lord,” who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven' (Matthew 7:21).
What is the Father's will? And how do I carry it out?
It is the Father's will that we enter into a relationship with Him and get to know Him better.
He wants us to study His Word and grow daily in sanctifying grace.
It is God's will that we live each day fully (for His glory) as if it is our last day on earth.
He wants us to go through the different stages of life in union with Him.
God wants us to see how precious and priceless we are to Him.
He wants us to see Him and serve him in one another.
He wants us to desire that His will be done in our lives.
It is the Father's will that we wish others the good we wish for ourselves.
It is His will that our lives will lead others to salvation.
It is the will of our heavenly Father that we repent of our sins and live in righteousness.
It is His will that we take personal responsibility for the evil in the world and repent instead of looking for who to blame.
It is the Father's will that our good actions speak louder than our words.
It is the Father's will that we use our gifts and resources to spread His kingdom on earth.
It is the Father's will that we understand that making heaven is far more important than making money.
It is the Father's will that you share good and edifying content with the people you love thus reminding them of their purpose (which is to know, love, and serve God to be with Him in heaven forever).
