UNDIVIDED LOYALTY

Today’s Reading:
Jeremiah 12:14 – 13:11
"These evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.” (Jeremiah 13:10)

Imagine a spouse who promises love but keeps a secret relationship with another. That marriage cannot stand. In the same way, divided loyalty to God is spiritual adultery. In a world of divided attention, shifting priorities, and multiple allegiances, God calls His children to give Him undivided loyalty.
Jeremiah is told to act out a parable with a linen belt. The belt was supposed to cling closely to the waist just as God’s people are meant to cling to Him. But when it was hidden and ruined, it became useless just like Israel when they turned to pride and idolatry. Today, you must ask: Is my loyalty to God undivided? Undivided loyalty means giving your complete devotion, commitment, and faithfulness to one person, cause, or authority without sharing it with another. It means serving God and Him only. It means loving and serving God with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), without allowing idols, sin, or worldly desires to compete with Him.
How long will you serve God with a divided heart, half-hearted allegiance, and a compromising lifestyle? On Sunday, you are a Christian, but during the week, you pitch your tent with the devil. You are a worker in the church, yet you still keep a secret relationship. Your speaking in tongues is being respected by people as if you are second in command to God, yet you keep malice with both believers and unbelievers. As far as you are concerned, alcohol is just a way of enjoyment and relaxation; is it the same heaven the saints of old went to, you are going to? You still visit herbalists and fake prophets all in the name of protection, and you are the number one singer in the church. Will you stop this divided loyalty before judgment comes on you? You cannot serve two masters, God and money. It’s either you are faithful to one or discard the other. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD wholeheartedly. What about you? Let’s pray!
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully seek out a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor, or priest.
Prayer:
Lord, I give You my whole heart. Remove every form of divided loyalty from my life in Jesus’ name.
Help me to serve You faithfully, without compromise, in every decision I make in Jesus’ name.
May my life reflect undivided devotion to You, my Master and King, in Jesus’ name.
I receive grace to follow and serve You to the end in Jesus’ name.
