UNDIVIDED HEART

Today’s Reading:

Ezra 7:10

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.” (v. 10 KJV)

The Bible describe human heart as a place where good and bad comes from. A good heart incline to the law of the LORD, and a bad heart decline to it. A divided heart cannot seek the law of the LORD, while undivided heart will prepare and seek the law of the LORD. Again, it’s what you know that you will do and teach, if you don’t know it, you can do and teach. In today’s reading, Ezra knew the significance of seeking the LORD Law. The Bible says, he prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD. His heart was undivided towards it. He was not thinking of sinful desire but was seeking the LORD Law. When he had sought the law, he now began to do it and teach people.

Like Ezra, the same thing was required from our God, that, we should seek His law with our heart. When we seek His law, it is then that we are capable of observing it and to teach others about the knowledge of our God. Jesus gives a command on going and teaching people about God’s Law. When our heart is not with Him, how can we seek Him? If we did not seek Him, how can we put it into deeds? If we did not do it, how can we teach others? I pray may God help every one of us in Jesus Christ name.
