Today’s Reading:

Numbers 14:10b-24

“Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; Surely they shall not see the land which I swore unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it.” (Numbers 14: 22 23)

“Even God cannot sink this ship” This phrase is famously associated with the RMS Titanic. It was reportedly said by a crew member of the White Star Line before the ship's maiden voyage in 1912. The Titanic was considered a marvel of engineering, featuring advanced safety measures for its time, leading some to believe it was "unsinkable." Tragically, the ship struck an iceberg and sank on April 15, 1912, in one of history’s most infamous maritime disasters. Unbelief is the opposite of belief. It’s a slap on God and His power for anyone to disbelieve Him. Unbelief is an insult to the personality of God. It is sardonic for anyone to make light of the power and workings of God Almighty. The scriptures say a fool said in his heart that there is no God. How will someone look critically at nature and conclude that God doesn’t exist and can’t believe in Him? That person is a walking corpse.

The Israelites saw the wonder-working power of God in Egypt as he performed ten miracles, which ended with the death of all firstborn both of animals and humans. When they were leaving Egypt rejoicing, there was wailing, mourning and bitter tears in Egypt. They saw how God sank the chariots and all soldiers that entered with them in the Red Sea while they walked majestically through the sea. Waters were brought from the rock, Marah turned to sweetness, they ate Manna, among other wonderful acts of God, yet they didn’t believe that God could give them the land. They wanted to stone Caleb and Joshua before the glory of the Lord appeared to them. They provoked God to the extent that He wanted to wipe them out and make a nation out of Moses, if not for the intercession of Moses. Alas! God declared that they would wander in the wilderness for forty years just because of unbelief.

What is your present predicament that is making you doubt the existence of God? Every thought or utterance that diminishes the power or miracles of God is from the devil, you must discard it outright. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Believe in him, and what he says will come to pass. He can’t be limited by time because he is timeless. Age is not a barrier to Him because he is ageless. Unbelief limits the power of God in the lives of people and brings severe punishment, especially to those who have witnessed his miracles before and now doubt them. Arise and believe in him. The vision is for an appointed time though it tarries, wait for it, for it will surely come. It is well with you in Jesus’ name.

JAMES ALADE

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome into the body of Christ. Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Every aorta of doubt in me disappears in Jesus’ name.

  2. Every delayed miracle due to unbelief melts by fire in Jesus’ name.

  3. Everything l have lost due to unbelief, let the mercy of God bring them back in Jesus’ name.

  4. Whether the enemy likes it or not, I shall enter into my rest in Jesus’ name.
