Today’s Reading:
James 4:11-17
“What you ought to say is "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that". (v.15)
In our world today gossiping and criticism has become the order of the day. We take pleasure in running each other down, which should not be, rather we should aim to build each other up. We are all one in Christ Jesus and we should exhibit that oneness everywhere we go. We should honour one another and not judge each other. We ought to respect ourselves and the message of Christ which we preach. In essence, we should love one another as Christ commanded (vv. 11-12).
In the later part of our text, we are admonished against self-confidence. As humans we are expected to have goals and dreams we want to achieve, but not at the expense of our creator. The attribute that makes us different is that we as Christians should put God at the centre of all our plans. God has a major part to play in the fulfilment of our destiny, we should allow God to do his job and stop interfering. I believe that we should be at the back seat while God is driving and not the other way around. God will never force us to give him control over our lives. He stands at the door knocking. Are you ready to open up to him? He is the master planner you need from the beginning to the end of your plans and life. Put him first in all you do and you will non regret it. Determine today to yield total control of your life to him and let his will be done. God bless you.
JAMES ALADE
Prayer:
God give me the grace to be still when you are working, and to always put you first in everything I do, in Jesus name.
I surrender my will for your will to take over, in Jesus name.
Ever decision I have taken in the flesh that are bringing trouble into my life, O Lord deliver me, in Jesus name.
Oh Lord, let your will be done, in Jesus name.
