When you have done all that you know how to do, when you have sought help or solutions to your problems, and they have all failed, do this instead. Jesus gives us the formula, three words: COME TO ME.

Coming to Jesus means:

  • We consider Him the final bus stop for all issues.

  • Presenting every moment of the day, with its challenges, concerns and worries to Him.

  • Placing your needs and petitions before Him.

  • Coming to Him at every moment of the day, from sunrise to sunset.

  • Bringing the situations that have gotten out of hand to Him.

  • Present your financial challenges.

  • Present your spouse and children.

  • Come in thanksgiving with the things you are happy about.

  • Come with the situations in your life that need divine intervention

  • Bringing your emotional and mental challenges to Him.

  • Placing your desire to enter the marriage or religious vocation into His hands.

  • We come because He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Jesus asks us to "Shoulder His Yoke and Learn from Him". This means that:

  • We meditate on his incarnation, his coming as the Lamb of God who takes away our sins (John 1:29).

  • We constantly call to mind his life, suffering, death and Resurrection.

  • We call to mind the fact that by his stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

  • We become aware of the need to be patient with the people in our lives.

  • We also learn patience with ourselves as we struggle to overcome sin and addiction.

"I am meek and humble of heart."  We become like Jesus when:

  • We learn to forgive and tolerate others.

  • We learn to be attentive to those who need support and care.

  • We learn to receive compliments and corrections in the same measure.

  • We learn to listen more and speak less.

  • To celebrate the success, we have recorded and complain less.

  • We learn to see things from the perspective of others instead of insisting on our own.

  • We seek to understand that everyone is going through something and we show compassion.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Lord, give me a heart like yours.

  2. Lord, teach me gentleness and humility.

  3. Lord, help me quickly forgive and not be resentful.

  4. Lord, heal my memory of every trauma.

  5. Lord, forgive those who continue to hurt me.

  6. Lord, heal me of indifference and malice.

  7. Lord, make me accountable for my actions.

  8. Lord, help me quickly repent every time I sin.

  9. Lord, may I find peace and joy in serving You and the people in my life, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  10. Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like Yours. Heal me of malice, selfishness, trauma and indifference. Fill my heart with love for You and for everyone You have a place in my life. Amen.
