Today’s Reading:
Genesis 43:16-34
‘’…….they bowed to the ground before him……and they bow low again”
(Genesis 43:26, 28 NLT)
Most people are often too quick to resign to fate when things do not go as expected. To them God is either slow; not capable of giving them their request or perhaps forgotten them. They are too quick to judge, forgetting that His delay is not His denial.
The story of Joseph in today’s text is a great lesson for us. In Genesis 37:5-11,17-20, Joseph had a dream that he became a leader over his brethren. Unfortunately, he was not sensitive to the hatred put up by his brothers against him. He shared his dream with them, and it became a serious problem for him. His brothers planned to kill him but for God’s intervention, he was sold to Egypt. As events unfold, he eventually became a prime minister to pharaoh after interpreting the King’s dream. Joseph became so powerful that nobody could lift a hand or foot in Egypt without his order. The famine he predicted came to pass which affected all part of the country including the land of Canaan where his brothers and father lived. The famine also brought them to Egypt where they were looking for survival. Unknown to them, they came in contact with Joseph who they thought would not make it to the top. As they could not recognize him, they bowed down to him so many times as possible in compliance with the wonderful word of God.(Gen 42:6, 43:26b,28b,44;4b,50:18). This is what they believed would never happen.
The Unchanging word of God has power to bring to manifestation what people thought is impossible. It can make a way where there seems to be no way (Isa 48:18-19). Do not doubt God’s promises for your life. It may seem slow, but it will be definitely come to pass. God is not a man that he should lie neither should He change His mind. Do not allow your challenges to push you to taking the devil’s alternative. Like Joseph, you must keep waiting until your desired dream come to pass. (Job 14:14).
God is about changing your story, He will soon give you a new name & fresh testimonies, if you will just be patient with His word and surrender your life and everything to Him. The word of God is unchanging. It is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). He will bring to fulfilment all His promises for you. Only keep looking unto Him, the Author and Finisher of our Faith (Heb. 12:1). Everything may fail but His word will never fail.
