THE ULTIMATE CHEAT CODE

Today’s Readings:

Tobit 11:5-17

Psalm 146:2,7-10

Mark 12:35-37

In the world of gaming, gamers love to use cheat codes. A cheat code is generally a code, method or device used by gamers to advance levels, or to get other special powers and benefits in a video game. They are not bad because they are described as "cheats". Rather they grant gamers access to benefits which by their mere efforts they will achieve with extreme difficulty. Grace is the Christian equivalent of a cheat code. In fact, it is the ultimate cheat code.

Through grace, God granted healing to Tobit who had been blind for a long time. By the grace of deliverance, God preserved the life Tobias when he married Sarah, daughter of Raguel. Grace is manifest where God is present. God's presence is made manifest in the hearts of those who love Him (John 14:23). Although we may go through trials and difficult moments (some of these moments may even overwhelm us), we shall never be defeated. Difficulties are purifiers. Your health challenge, financial situation, in your search for a suitable spouse, endless search for a job or suitable accommodation are purifiers. When the time of purification is done, you shall rejoice. Grace is present at every stage of your life. Grace is present at the beginning of our lives. Grace is present in our season of purification. Grace elevates us from purification to glory. In all, God's grace aligns our will with the will of God.

As we go through life, let us seek grace the perfect cheat code. We must remain prayerful and in a state of grace so that all our actions may glorify God. Our joys and sufferings glorify God. May God's grace help you not to grumble during the season of purification so that you do not lose the rewards on the day of glory. When grace is activated, the memory of your past trials and tribulations will disappear.
