THE TRUSTING GOD

Today’s Reading:

Psalms 20:1-9

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.” (Psalms 20:7-8)

The writer of Psalm 20 is acknowledged to David. The Psalm was written after David’s triumph over his enemies. In verse one, David prayed “may the LORD answer you in the day of trouble!” why? David offer prayer to God during his trouble and the LORD delivered him. In the ancient Israel, chariots and horses were used to fight during battles, so many people believe that with their horses and chariots they can with over a battle. But David realises that horses and chariots can fail and ruin someone in battle. With all his enemies’ horses and chariots, he triumph over them with the help of God.

In verses 7-8, David acknowledge God as the only one you can trust in life challenges, he and his armies trust in the LORD, and He gave them victory over their enemies. Some of us trust in our power, some in human being, some in evil power, all are in vain, they are disappointed and ruin at the end. Only the help and power of God will bring victory and peace to your life. Trust in the LORD and wait for Him, victory shall be yours.
