Today’s Readings:
Psalm 106:40-48; Jeremiah 10:17-25; Luke 20:45-21:4

There are many things in this world that messes with the ability of the children of God to follow the laid down principles of the word, ranging from the struggles of life, our daily needs, challenges that comes our way and so on. At times it looks as if the heavenly race is impossible to run while some other times, it looks as though it is impossible to get things done for ourselves without getting our hands dirty.
The children of Israel were faced with all manner of challenges that made them fall too, in verse 40 of Psalms 106, the wrath of God was kindled up against the children of Israel because of so many abominable acts they did against God while they were camouflaging with the children of Canaan in the later verse that God gave them to the hand of the heathen and they that hated them to rule over them. They provoked the Lord so much that they were brought low for their iniquities, but He later regarded their affliction when they cried out to
Him to save them.
God’s hands are always opened to us when we cry out to Him for mercy. No matter how grievous that sin you have committed is, no matter how far you might have gone and no matter how brutal you might have been in the past, it is a reminder to you that the Lord is plenteous in mercy and goodness. He never exhaust his mercy store any day. Whenever we decide and make up our mind to come back to him and take a new leaf, his arms are always wide open to receive us the way He received the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) that came back no matter our offence. The Lord deals with us according to the multitude of His mercies because of our own strength we still can't serve Him enough.
Believers should note that:
The mercies of the Lord as well as His steadfast love for humankind are new every day (Lamentations 3:22-24).
God never exhaust his mercy store, whenever we run to Him, He will run to us and attend to our needs (Psalm 106:45).
God's mercy is what wakes us up daily and we have nothing of our own (Lam 3:22).
Mercy is what keeps speaking for mankind till forever for our righteousness is like a filthy rag before Him (Isaiah 46:6)
Believers should not:
Take the mercies of the Lord for granted seeing that His mercy never gets exhausted and it's readily available for us.
Be negligent about the things of the father because mercy chastises as well.
In cases when we need to act with our God wisdom and strength plead the mercy of God thereby leaving our responsibilities to God.
Be lazy or reluctant about doing the right things because the mercy of God is free.
