THE LOVE OF CHRIST

Today’s Reading:

Isa.49:13-20 (13)

"Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people And will have mercy (compassion) on His afflicted (the humble of His people)." (v. 13 NKJV)

God's people continued to ponder on the calamity that befell them when Babylon invaded the land, destroyed Jerusalem, and carried the people of Judah into exile where they felt deserted and forgotten. And instead of going back to Yahweh in repentance, they continued in their iniquity.

Prophet Isaiah encouraging them used the imaginary of a nursing mother's compassion and love for her child to express the love and concern of God for his people Israel, which goes beyond the affection of a dedicated mother towards her child.

In this world, hardly can we find a problem-free season of life and at times, the onslaught is terrifying. But as Christians, for every problem, or challenge in our lives there is only one key solution, and that is: we have Jesus Christ, He loves us, and He is our advocate with God the Father. God is aware of every unpleasant situation that may be confronting us. Isaiah is reminding us that God's knowledge of us is so deep and intimate that it is as if He has engraved the picture of each and every one of us on the palm of His hands (v.16).

The question we should ask ourselves now is that: have we forsaken God the same God that fought for the Israelites during their conquests (Deut. 31:6). How are we responding to his love, grace, mercy, and faithfulness towards us. Do we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strengthen? Do we love our fellow man as ourselves. Even when we feel neglected, God is aware of every detail of our lives. He gave his only begotten Son to die for our sins and that whoever believe in him will not die but have eternal life. He has also given us His Holy Spirit to guide, to comfort and to strengthen us in all our weaknesses.

In whatever life's changing and challenging scenes, let us remember that our lives take on a brighter perspective in the light of Jesus Christ. And that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

  3. Every siege and rage of powers of darkness against my life and destiny, be quenched by the power in the blood of Jesus, in Jesus name.

  4. I shall not die before my time, and I shall not bury any of my children young, we shall live to good old age and testify to the goodness of God, in Jesus name.

  5. Father revive your you work in your church and ignite your Pentecostal fire and power, in Jesus name.

  6. And the nations shall be filled with the righteousness, the glory, and the praise of the Almighty God, as the water covers the earth, in Jesus name.
