THE LORD DETEST SIN

Today’s Reading:

Psalm 107:1-9, 43; Hosea 9:1-17; Ephesians 4:17-24



Just like the time of old, we are in a time where inequality is worshipped, it's no longer a surprise when abominable things happen after all, they are becoming the norm, both adults are children are soaked in corruption, drunkenness, theft, envy, strife, abnormal sexual orientations, etc. The media gives us nothing but bad news of evil that has taken place in one region of the country or the other. The world is in chaos because of the sin of man, what then is the role of the believers in all these? Are we now entangled in the ways and evil of the world like Israel? (Hosea 9:1-17). Does the ways of the Lord look unpleasant and unattractive to believers already? Where's our gratitude for the marvellous works of God in our lives? What is the redeemed of the Lord doing? Those who have been called to righteousness, those who have been redeemed from the hands of the enemies, those the Lord has gathered to Himself (psalm 107:1-3) are they repaying their maker with thanksgiving or rebellion? Have the eyes and hearts of the believers been blinded like the rest of the world? So, I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking (Ephesians 4:17). It's a command from the Lord that we should desist from the ways of the world and be renewed in the spirit of our minds, it's sure time to put on the armor of righteousness to show that we are different from the rest of the world.


Tips:

  • Sin may look attractive, and it may seem like without it, we can't get all the worldly goods and pleasures we so desire but what does it profit a man when He gains the whole world and losses his/her soul? (Mark 8:36).

  • Isn't God the creator of heaven and earth and everything therein? God is more than capable to give us whatever you desire, just keep trusting and confessing His goodness (psalm 24:1).

  • Does that challenge weary you to the point that you can't hold up anymore? His grace is always sufficient for you, tap into that grace.

  • It may look like the world can't be without sin anymore, it may look like the winners are always the sinners, it may even seem like it's impossible to make it or win without getting dirty, but do you really believe that God is powerless and can't make things happen in your life? (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

  • When the world is saying there is a casting down, never stop confessing a lifting up (Job 22:29).

  • God detest sin and It is consequences are sure, more so eternal damnation is sure for those who refuse to desist from it ( Roman 6:23, Hebrew 10:26-30).

Prayer:

  1. Father Lord, give me the grace to say no to those little things that keeps dragging me to sin, in Jesus name.

  2. I receive the power and grace to overcome obstacles, and limitations that look as though I am being snatched from God, in Jesus name.

  3. I am no longer a slave to sin, so I walk only in righteousness and goodness of God, in Jesus name.

  4. The Church of God is free from sin and it’s power, in Jesus name.

  5. Every power oppressing our nation, Nigeria, and putting the country under shackles is destroyed by the mighty power of God, in Jesus mighty name.
