THE GOSPEL OF DECEIT

Today's Reading:

Romans 16:17-20

The Gospel is the power of God. God's backup plan for the fall of man was the Gospel which is the teaching of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who delivered man from eternal damnation and also gave men the power to become sons and daughters of God. The gospel of deceit is the adulterated word of God. The peddler diluted it to suit men without having any divine inspiration. It's aimed at diverting the heart of God's people from the undiluted word of God thereby leading them astray.

Satan who is cunning, the adversary and accuser of man from inception yet looked for a way to ensure all men will be deceived despite the deliverance God had set for man, he strategically began to plant men in the gathering of the saints to ensure that this Gospel is polluted. One of the solutions Paul rendered to believers who are in Christ concerning the Gospel of deceit was to avoid them. This simply means to shun anyone who goes about teaching what is not in line with the Gospel. Many of us tend to give such people attention therefore making our hearts vulnerable to the attacks of such teachings. Paying attention to teachings that are contrary to what the Scripture says has a whole lot of tendency to destroy our belief system, so the best and most strategic way to overcome such teachings is to avoid them. The devil has also advanced his system by using Scripture to back up their heretical teachings. A wise believer must be discerning and well-grounded in the Scripture so that he or she will not be tossed about with such intellectual teachings that lead men to errors.

Remember that we are in the last days when the Bible already affirms that wolves will come into the church in sheep's clothing to devour the sheep by their deceptive teachings. It is easy for even the strongest of believers to be tossed to and fro in strange doctrines. If a believer refuses to shun such teachings, paying attention to these kinds of strange doctrines can create a folder in the heart and subconsciously store them in such folders. The devil then waits for a perfect time to attack such a heart which has stored such a folder and attacks with doubtful questions. When doubtful questions about God are then been thrown at such a person, he then begins to search through such folders to feed his erroneous thoughts. Believers must shun and avoid any teachings that will dent their faith or belief in God.

In conclusion, as believers, we must understand that the gospel can be summed up as the birth, life, crucifixion, death, resurrection, ascension, and the second coming of Christ. Any teaching contrary to this is a deceit from the pit of hell.

Anathema Maranatha!

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness.

Thank you, Lord.”  If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Oh Lord help me to always discern between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error, that I may not fall into errors.

  2. Oh Lord deliver me from every false preacher and teacher that might want to take me away from you.

  3. Oh Lord give me grace to continually obey your will, and I will please you all the days of my life.

  4. Oh Lord, expose every false teacher and preacher in Your church.

  5. Let the Spirit of Truth prevail over our nation Lord.
