Today’s Reading:
Psalms 8
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants, You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. (Psalms 8:2)

How on earth was David able to defeat Goliath with a sling and a stone that the strongest army of the whole of Israel couldn’t do? Does it make sense to ordinary and carnal man? No, that’s the foolishness of God. How could Balaam's donkey communicate God’s intention to man? It sounds absurd. A prisoner and a stranger, rather let’s call him a certified and approved forgotten slave who was likely to rot in jail, he was taken to the Palace and became second in command in a land where he had no father, mother or any biological ancestry. How did it happen? He never contested, no campaign, no manifestos or bribing his way through, yet an office that never existed was created for him. This is sheer foolishness by human standards. He was born in a manger, never rode a luxurious car, no record that he built a house or flew in a first-class plane, he lived a very short life, yet he’s the most influential person that has ever lived. Is that not absolute foolishness and nonsense to the wisest of men? She has neither father nor mother, yet she won the favour of every eye and became the first lady of such a large and powerful empire. Even her guardian was an ordinary and wretched gateman in a land where he was not known. I can go on and on to mention the foolishness of God even in our contemporary world.
The “foolishness of God” is a phrase found in 1 Corinthians 1:25, and it is a powerful paradox used by the Apostle Paul to describe how God’s wisdom appears foolish to the world, but is far greater than human wisdom. What seems foolish to human reasoning is the wisest expression of God's plan. God’s way of doing things confounds human pride and logic. Out of the mouth of babes and suckling, he ordained strength. Babies are weaklings, yet God uses what the world calls weaklings and useless to establish his plan. His ways are unfathomable, His works are too great for the human mind to explain. No one can accurately predict God’s workings. Even at one hundred and twenty years, his eyes never went dim, nor did his strength abate; that must only be God at work in the life of Moses.
Is the world looking at you as a weakling or outcast? Have you considered yourself too old to climb a particular mountain of success or have your baby? Have you been written off as far as becoming a voice in your family or generation is concerned? I have been sent to announce to you that the foolishness of God is about to manifest in your life. You have gone too far to go back. Arise in the place of prayer and hold on to Jesus’ garment, and your story will change for the better in Jesus' name.
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
My father, my father, rewrite my story for good in Jesus’ name
Every power mocking God in my life, I terminate you in Jesus’ name
Arise in your anger and disgrace my oppressors in Jesus’ name
Let the foolishness of God confound the wise over my case in Jesus’ name.
