Today’s Reading:
Psalm 117
“O praise the LORD, all ye nations; praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great towards us: and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise ye the LORD.” (vv. 1-2)

Psalm 117 reminds everyone they are to praise the Lord. Whether you are in the midst of blessing or in the midst of suffering, you must praise the Lord. Psalm 117 is a small Bible chapter with big truth. It is full of some amazing truth. If you are ever wondering what to do in life, just read Psalm 117. It makes things clear in the first 3 words: “Praise the Lord”.
We were built to praise. You will only find true joy, peace, hope and love in praising the Lord. Quite often, we lose this focus and get side-tracked by either ourselves or by others. It is easy to think the world revolves around you, but it is completely false. When you start feeling superior to the next person or start praising yourself for your achievements, then you might need to rethink where your devotion lies -God or yourself ?.
Making yourself the centre of praise is bad. Verse 2 gives us some reasons which should lead us to praise God in all situations : God’s love and His faithfulness . God will always love you. He sacrificed His only begotten Son- Jesus Christ for your sake. That is a thought which should lead us to praise. Nothing can be completely faithful to you, not even yourself. Only God is completely faithful. That is also a thought that should lead us to praise God at all times.
