THE BATTLE IS GOD’S

Today’s Readings:

Psalm 110:1-7

“The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” (v. 1)

We live in a world where many are fighting a battle that is not meant for them, forgetting that the battle belongs to God. This happens most times because of a lack of knowledge of God’s Word. The Word of the Lord says in Ephesians 6:12-13 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armour of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”. When we hand over the battle of our lives to God, victory is bound to be ours. That is what David realized earlier when he went to confront Goliath according to 1 Samuel 17:45-46a "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head”. And God gave him victory over the Philistine.

According to our memory verse today, God is also calling us also to sit at his right hand and watch while He carries on with the assignment. But mind you, in the process of sitting at His side and watching, you are meant to know more of the father (through His Word and revelation), praying, fasting, and growing spiritually to know the right time and activities you are meant to be involved in.

He that said in His word according to Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against you will prevail, knows what he is saying. Yours is just to obey every bit of His word and watch to see the positive turn- out. My advice to you as you will move out today is that you put God first in all and be obedient to him and just watch out for His action towards your issues.

JAMES ALADE

Prayer:

  1. O Lord help me in my Christian journey to tarry at your right hand and be obedient to your word, in Jesus’ name.

  2. I put you at the centre of all my affairs, God, take charge of it all, in Jesus’ name.

  3. According to your word, no weapon formed against me shall prosper, in Jesus’ name.

  4. Every battle raising its ugly head from the pit of hell against this nation, be destroyed in Jesus’ name.

  5. Ever power battling with the peace of this nation, be wasted, in Jesus’ name.
