Christianity and Christians are not in the minority at all. Half of our nation's population is Christian. This should be an advantage but sadly, it is not. While we have the numbers, we lack the conviction. We act like a defeated people even though our Lord and Saviour defeated death and gave us victory by His resurrection. Christian culture should be mainstream, yet we swim on the periphery. We submit to the squalor of sin and moral evil when we can change the mindset of people by spreading love and understanding. Where can we draw inspiration from to be our best selves?

Saint Paul stood up in a synagogue, not minding that he might be called out for speaking blasphemy and he spoke about the resurrection and how we are the beneficiaries of the Promise God made to our ancestors. Dear Christian, do you consider faith in Jesus to be the solution to our problems? Jesus declares to his disciples: ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me (John 14:6). He is the Way to a different mindset about humanity’s place in the world and what we should do to change the world for good. He is the Truth spoken from the heart by all believers to lead sinners to repentance. He is Life and a relationship with Him secures our eternal reward.

You can consciously lead others to Jesus today in the different areas of your life:

  • Family—Be faithful to your spouse (be chaste as a single person) and be present to your family’s needs.

  • Religion—Be a witness for Christ by loving your neighbour as yourself.

  • Education—Be excellent at what you know and be able to apply that knowledge in problem-solving for the good of your community.

  • Media—Use media to showcase the goodness and dignity of the human person instead of hatred and biases.

  • Entertainment—Choose entertainment which edifies your spirit and elevates your mind towards God. Boycott everything that shows humans at their worst and spreads fear and moral evil.

  • Business—Let your exchange of goods and services serve to enrich the lives of those who patronize you.

  • Government—Defend the rights of the poorest and weakest in society and seek the integration of all people instead of spreading nepotism and hate.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “ Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord”.

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Lord, help me see that with your grace I can do all things. Strengthen me to be a witness to Your resurrection and lead many souls to You. Amen.

  2. Lord strengthen us to transform the world by our way of life and lead others to eternal happiness in heaven, through Christ our Lord. Amen
