Today’s Reading:
Deuteronomy 34:1-12
The first question one may ask sometimes is, how does God think or who is this God?
The story in the passage above is the process of Moses departure from leading the Israelites, Moses the only man who saw God face to face Exodus 33:11, the man God prepared from birth and used him to lead the Israelites out of captivity and slavery Exodus 12:29-31, through whom God punished the whole of Egypt with 10 different plagues Exodus 7-11, led the Israelites for forty years through the wilderness journey and it seems things are getting better and going forward into the promised land, he was denied access and all he laboured for was handed over to someone else, who is this God?

"Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
Deuteronomy 16:19 KJV" and "Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him about his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Matthew 18:15 KJV".
These two passages gave us an understanding of what God did because Numbers 20:1-13 explained a little of exactly what hindered Moses from entering the promised land.
Now in v6, Moses and Aaron went to God for help, and He answered with instruction in v8 "... and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes..." but in v11 "And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod, he smote the rock twice..." Though God still answered the people by giving them water, it was wrong for Moses.
Yes, Moses very meek man before God (Numbers 12:3), may have been doing several things either with anger, zeal or love for God or his people for example:
1. When he killed an Egyptian and buried him in the sand (Exodus 2:11-22; Acts 7:23-25).
2. After begging God to forgive the people, he came down and broke the first set of tablets inscribed by the finger of God (Exodus 31:18-32:19-20).
Our God is a good God, with all the wrong that Moses did, there is still no prophet in the entire universe that is greater than Moses and God personally buried him that no one knows where his tomb is.
God our creator cannot be prejudice, as we, His children walking with him, there is no room for assumptions, if you are not clear with the instructions, please quickly go back and ask for clarification of the assignment and don't be sentimental his instructions, 99.9% obedience is as good as disobedience.

Prayer:
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for months after months of sustenance and seasoned words to guide, to direct and to instruct, in Jesus name.
Lord Jesus Christ, I surrender my totality into your hands, let me not be over-familiar with your divine instruction, in Jesus name.
My Lord and my saviour, please keep me in the path of obedience, help me not to assume what you have not said and give me the heart to 100% obedience, in Jesus name.
Father do not let me labour in vain, may I not labour in futility, help me to enjoy the fruits of my labour, in Jesus name.
Lord, help me not to use my own hands to destroy my labour, may I not be provoked or push by others to offend God, in Jesus name.
Help me to fulfil the purpose of my creation, in Jesus name.
Help our leaders both spiritual and political to focus on you and walk in your divine instruction for their lives, in Jesus name.
