SHOW ME A TOKEN FOR GOOD

Today’s Reading:

Psalm 86

This is a Psalm of cry for help to God. The world is going through very difficult times, which have been rightly prophesied in the Bible. It is a time for every Christian and child of God to rise in prayer. The prayer in this Psalm gives a guide to how to pray and what to pray for. It is also a time to remind God of our relationship with Him. The highlights of this prayer are as follows:

  1. God please bow down His ear and hear me out. For God to hear you, you must have a relationship with Him. Nobody can come out of the blues and begin to call upon God and expect Him to hear you. God does not hear the prayers of sinners. You must be born again for God to hear you. The Bible says that the prayer of the unrighteous is an abomination before God. The only prayer of a sinner that God hears, is the prayer of repentance genuinely said.

  2. God to preserve your soul because you are holy. It follows from the first point that holiness is a compulsory criterion for God to preserve you. In these days of violence and all manner of evil, every Christian must strive at holiness to enjoy continuous divine protection.

  3. A prayer for the mercy of God. You will need to cry to God for mercy, and that mercy should prevail over judgment. The book of Romans says, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy ".  Romans 9 vs 15. This, therefore, means that mercy is the prerogative of God. My prayer is that God will choose you among those He will shower His mercy upon in Jesus' name.

  4. A plea for God to rejoice in your soul as you lift it to Him. What this means is that despite the turbulence going on around the world there is a need for an inner peace within you that arises from the rejoicing of the soul.

Amidst these prayers, we must acknowledge and extol God's goodness and greatness which the psalmist has done. May God continue to be God and God alone in your life in Jesus' name.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud:

Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I believe and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart, keep me from all evil, and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank You, Lord!

If you said the above short prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest, as the case may be.

Prayers:

  1. O God I ask that you forgive me of my sins and draw me back to you in Jesus' name

  2. O Lord restore to me all my past losses in Jesus' name

  3. Agenda of the wicked against my destiny scatter in the name of Jesus

  4. O Lord restore the glory of Your church in the name of Jesus

  5. My Father, have mercy on our nation in the name of Jesus
