Today’s Reading:
Luke 8:26-18
“Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”
(v. 21, NLT)

One major thing that the Lord value is Obedience. We have been called as a Light and we must be ready to shine so that others may see the pathway and follow Christ through us. Verse 15 of this passage talks about the seed that falls on good soil/heart. The word of God was retained till it produce fruit. The word of God is a lamp and light in us which cannot be hidden. The word of God and His instructions that we have received must be seen in us. And The moment we receive Him we must be ready to shine to others. Jesus made it known to us in verse 18 that those who understand God's word more of it will be given to them. The addition of this knowledge will only be added if we make use of the one, we have .
Jesus went about doing the will of God for him, He didn't hide the word in him, he kept on using it for the kingdom. As believers we must be ready to shine the Light. The word of God in us is a light which shouldn't be kept in us alone. We must be ready and do the Lord's will. Jesus is a very good example for every believer. He was a light who was never hidden for once, he kept doing God's will for him and he never allowed anything to stop him. The visit of his family to the place of his teaching didn't distract or stop him from sharing the word. He continued and he made it known to everyone that His family are those who hear God's word and do it.
In conclusion, there are many darkness and secret on earth today because the children of God refuses to shine forth the Light.
Will you be one of those that refuse to shine the light and hide the lamp?
Rise up today and shine the Light of God.
