Today’s Reading:
PSALM 63, 1 SAM. 17: 55- 18:1-5, REV. 11:15-19

Before one can be so effective in his service in order to render quality worship to God, he or she must first know who God is. The heart, body, soul, and spirit of that person must pant after seeing God. One must be able to identify what God is capable of doing. This is what will ginger one’s spirit and it will stir up one’s faith by the time challenges come. The Psalmist sought after God, and he could beat his chest on what he knew God could do.
This is what helped David when he was to fight Goliath. He had experienced God when he was tending the flock of his father. He had gathered momentum with his experience in the flock, because of this he could not fear Goliath – uncircumcised Philistine. He went to the battlefield with the consciousness that God was with him, and he was able to come victoriously. Any victory a child of God makes leads to sincere worship to God Almighty. The glory goes to God as the benefits are enjoyable with God’s children. One should not compromise his/her faith for anything, for any challenge or persecution – God sees every huddle his children are jumping, and he gives strength to overcome it all (1 Cor. 10:13). Perseverance of God’s children leads to honour and promotion. This is what David enjoyed from Saul and Jonathan.
