Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 42:1-18
Today being the 10th day in the New Year 2020, some people usually start the year with either 3 days, 10 days, or 30 days fasting & prayers in other to commit the year into God’s hands. I want you to do a self-assessment of the first 9 days in this New Year. How is your relationship with God? Can the Lord say you are my servant? Is the spirit of God guiding, leading and directing all your affairs? It is only those that are led by the spirit of God that are the children of God or servants of God (Rom. 8:14).
Without the spirit of God in your life, you are nothing but a dust. (Gen. 2:7). Many Servants of God think they can do God’s assignment by their strength, idea, ability and wisdom. Bible says “By strength shall no man prevail” (I Sam. 2:9). Bro. Peter toiled all night and caught nothing. Have you tried to use your wisdom, strength and ability in the past years, and what have you achieved? In this year I advise you to depend completely on God on every aspect of your life be it spiritual, academic, finances, marital or business. He who made heavens and earth will neither fail nor disappoint you. If only you can call on Him, the spirit of God is available to help, assist, support and keep you until eternity.
Remember, the spirit of God is Holy and pure, so He cannot live in a dirty place. The first thing to do is to confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. Call on the blood of Jesus to wash your sins away and make your heart pure/clean. Then Holy Spirit can come in and be your helper, comforter and teacher.

Prayer:
O Lord I acknowledge that without you I am nothing; so Spirit of the living God come afresh on me, in Jesus name.
I surrender to the authority and leadership of the Holy Spirit from today forward, in Jesus name.
I refuse to be fruitless in every aspect of my life this year, in Jesus name.
Spirit of God, come afresh on your church like in the day of Pentecost, in Jesus name.
O Nigeria, receive the spirit of God to begin to do things rightly, in Jesus name.
