Today’s Reading:
Luke17:34
"I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left." (v. 34)
Whether we like it or not, a day will come when Jesus will come back to take His own home where He is. The question there now is how prepared are you? How prepared am I?
Rapture connotes the event when Jesus returns and gathers the souls of living believers, the people who are actually doing the perfect will of God, which is contrary to the permissive will of men. The perfect will of God is doing what He would do, conform to the image of God and be at peace with others irrespective of colour or creed. Jesus Christ while admonishing the people about the coming of the kingdom of God in various books of the gospel laid emphasis on the phenomenon and all the attendant events that Will usher in the rapture which is almost completed now. There shall be rumours of wars, nation rising up against nation, all manners of evil vices. In all these is everyday warnings to people just as it was during the time of Noah, Lot and so on, when the people were careless about the warnings.
For us to be candidates for the rapture, we need to do away with anger, malice, unforgiveness, stealing, backbiting, Idolatry etc and embrace the perfect will of God, which includes humility, obedience to God and divine authority of men; show love to one another for God is love and be at peace with others. The Lord shall make us a candidate of the rapture in the name of Jesus.
ABIODUN GEORGE
Prayer:
The care of the world shall not harvest my life in the name of Jesus.
In the turbulence of life, O Lord preserve me and mine, in the name of Jesus.
Oh Lord arise and establish your perfect will in the whole world in the name of Jesus.
By your mercy oh God, let souls be saved for you in the name of Jesus.
Oh God arise and make us candidates of the rapture in the name of Jesus.
