PREROGATIVE RIGHT OF CHRIST TO HIS PEOPLE

Today’s Reading:

Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24, 2 Sam. 6:1-15; Luke 24:1-12

There is no valuable thing or things that are so important to give God except one’s life. When one’s life is given to Christ, such life will appreciate what Christ did to redeem humanity. A hymn sings thus: Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done. Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. The Psalmist begins to say good thing he knew about God – he engages his mouth to say good things about God, as his heart is appreciative on the standing mercy of God. He declares the goodness of the Most High as he knew there is no one who is capable of doing such.

God has a prerogative right to do anything he wants. He blesses people at his own will - his own desire, he kills when no one questions him. He destroyed cities for the existence of Israel. He has many ways to lift you up to the acme of blessing; as he uses the scene of Ushas’ death to bless Obed Edom. He enthrones people while he dethrones others. To get along with God one needs to key into his system. One must do things the way he wants. Blessings people received from God is not automatic, it is not on the bases of position held, nor academic attainment – it is by obeying and following the principles of God. God reveals himself in every scene that happens around men, as David changed his worship style when he went to fetch the Ark of God to himself- at six steps interval he made sacrifices. Therefore, whatever thing that happens to you, there is something God wants to show you in it.
