Today's Reading:
Psalm 28, Ezekiel 14vs12-23, Matthew 20,vs29-34
Prayer is a way of communication between God and man, it is the Christian's staff to walk with God, it is one of our weapons to fight against the enemies. There are different kinds of prayers. For example, the prayer of supplication, Thanksgiving, petition, like the woman sited by Jesus before the king for revenge over her enemy, prayer for help etc. The psalmist noted the efficacy of prayer and "cry, O LORD my rock, be not silent to me, lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands, towards thy Holy Oracle. The help of God can come on the basis of an individual's righteousness.
In the present life that we live, we as believers, need God's help and are all dependent on basis of our righteousness before Him. In this world that we are, the righteousness of parents cannot extend to the children or children to the parents, this is the position of the Bible according to the book of Ezekiel. What is expected of us all is total repentance from all forms of sins. It is high time we make righteousness our every time activity and know that we cannot do it alone without the mercy of God. The two blind men knew that they cannot help themselves without the mercy of God, hence they call for it and He attended to them. Therefore, because He is our present help in trouble, let us always cry for God's mercy for our prayers to be answered always
