Today’s Readings:
1 Kings 8:22-23,27-30
Psalm 84:3-5,10-11
Mark 7:1-13
Never underestimate the power of prayer in your life. Those who pray enjoy a special connection with God. They learn to lift their burdens and hand them to the One who can take them away and replace them with grace and every blessing. Prayer is not for the weak—it is for those who know their limits and can cry out. Prayer is not for the poor either—it is for those who know their need for God.
In today’s reading, King Solomon prayed on behalf of the people. He presented the needs of the people of Israel before the one true King: “Listen to the prayer and entreaty of your servant, O Lord my God; listen to the cry and to the prayer your servant makes to you today. Day and night let your eyes watch over this house, over this place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there.’ Listen to the prayer that your servant will offer in this place. Hear the entreaty of your servant and Israel…From heaven where your dwelling is, hear; and, as you hear, forgive.”
Great things happen when we pray. Great things will happen when leaders pray and hand over their territories to God for protection and prosperity. God will transform your situation this day only if you pray and commit them to Him in faith. No matter how difficult the situation looks, no matter how desperate or hopeless, no matter where you are in your spiritual life, simply turn to Him in sincere words of prayer and great things will begin to happen for you today in Jesus’ mighty name.
What does Prayer do?
Prayer gives clarity. Do not be deceived that prayer is for those who are lazy. As you lift your voice to God and express your deepest desire to be free from sin and every infirmity my mind, soul and body, may God work His miracle of healing and transformation in your life in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Prayer releases us from anxiety. Your anxiety may be caused by the loss of your job, financial crisis, marital issues, relationship issues, addictions and stubborn sins. No problem is too great for God to solve. May God grant you freedom from anxiety and speedy resolution to your complaints in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Pray in your persecution. The martyrs of Japan prayed while being tortured for their faith in Christ. God will either get you out of a situation or give you the strength to go through it. May the grace of God deliver you from the justices of our world (racism, nepotism, gender discrimination etc.) May the grace of God purify you strengthen you and grant you victory over all your challenges in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Hand yourself over to God. He is the owner of your life. Nothing good or bad happens to you without His approval. Ask Him to take absolute control of your life and to give you the strength to go through difficult times. May God grant you grace to withstand difficult times and strength to rise above every trial and tribulation in Jesus’ name. Amen.
