Today's Reading:

Psalm 148:1-14 (v. 1)

"Praise ye the LORD, praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise Him in the heights."

When we say praise, we mean appreciation to the Lord, declaration of His goodness for us, expression of our thanksgiving to Him, showing others who He represents to us, and His totality of us being declared on and on. If there is anything that kept the relationship and promises of God intact between King David and God, it is praise. King David committed a lot of atrocities and iniquities, even killing Uriah to take over his wife.  Yet his praise to God overrides all those behaviours.

Three nations in 2 Chronicles 20 verses 20 to 24 faced the Israelites, yet God asked King Hezekiah to choose musicians to sing to Him for victory over the three enemy nations. Beloved, the Lord represents everything to us as believers. Just as the Bible passage was chosen for the discourse in which everything created by God, both high and low, everywhere praised the Lord.  If there is anything we need NOW apart from holiness and righteousness to bring the presence of God down, it is praise. For His goodness, love, truthfulness, faithfulness, compassion, mercy, grace, favour and so on over us, praise is the key.

I pray His praise shall continually be in our mouths forever in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer:

  1. The joy of the Lord shall be my portion in the name of Jesus.

  2. I will praise the Lord at all times in the name of Jesus.

  3. Powers on assignment against the praise of God in my life die in the name of Jesus.

  4. Powers that want to mix sorrow with my joy die in the name of Jesus.

  5. Sing: I will praise you, Oh my Saviour 4x forevermore.
