Hebrews 10:19-25
Psalm 24:1-6
Mark 4:21-25

As a child, I used to have those dreams where I struggled to wake up. It felt like someone was suffocating me. Then I scream the name of Jesus, and “nothing” happens. But as soon as I summon strength and scream “The Blood of Jesus!!!” I wake up. This happened several times. I thought it was a unique and private experience until a friend of mine at the time confided in me, “I have these dreams where I struggle to wake … nothing works until I scream the Blood of Jesus. Is it that there is more power in the Blood than in the name?” As a teenager, I did not know much, and I did not have an answer.
The Letter to the Hebrews gives us an insight: “Through the blood of Jesus we have the right to enter the sanctuary, by a new way which he has opened for us, a living opening through the curtain, that is to say, His body” (10:19). Jesus gives us power through His Blood. Invoking the Blood of Jesus gives power because it is Jesus Himself, and it calls to mind his sacrifice on the Cross. It is the power flowing from Christ’s sacrificial death (His act of love) that we claim—and therefore receive. If the mention of the name of Jesus and His Blood has so much potency and power, imagine what receiving His Body and Blood can do. The presence of blood implies that there is a body. And Christ’s Body and Blood are presented to us in the Eucharist (Holy Communion) at Mass through the action of an officiating minister of God. Imagine receiving the Body and Blood of Christ into your being; how powerful you must be. It is this power that gives us the connection to God. It breaks every barrier, limitation and stronghold and grants us entry into the divine places where we can access divine riches and favour—real spiritual wealth.
With the spiritual wealth that Christ affords us, we can influence and shape the course of history by our life and witness. Jesus hints at this when He tells us that you cannot hide a lamp under a bed. By receiving the Body and Blood of Christ, we become light in the world, calling others away from darkness. We become symbols of hope. We become vessels of faith and instruments of peace. This is a profound mystery! If we know what we receive in the Eucharist (Holy Communion), we will fall on our faces in unceasing gratitude, never bothering to ask for anything else, because we have found a treasure of great value.
If you know the power of Jesus in the Eucharist:
You will shine in the world like bright stars because you are offering it the word of life.
You will treat the Eucharist with the awe and reverence it deserves and not be indifferent.
You will purify yourself from sin and never receive Christ unworthily.
Your desire for Him will grow even more and great things will begin to manifest in your life.
If you only believe in Jesus Christ, you will transform the world.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Your Wounds hide me. Never permit me to be separated from You. From the evil Enemy, defend me. In the hour of my death, call me, and bid me to come to You. That with Your saints, I may praise You. Forever and ever. Amen.
Blood of Jesus, sanctify me, save me and strengthen me always. Amen.
