Today’s Reading:
Genesis 6: 5-22
"... Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God." ( v.9 )
Whosoever decides to stand with God will keep standing even if the whole world is falling. Noah chose the path of righteousness; he refused to be equally yoked with the ungodliness of his time. It was not a surprise that God discovered him among the people of his time to build ark for Him against the intending flood. While human creation came as regret to God, yet He still found one faithful person who decided to stand uprightly. If you were in Noah's generation would you be found faithful? When no one was willing to serve God, Noah's communication channel with God still remained opened. He was receiving divine instructions. No wonder the Bible says, "the secret of the Lord belongs to them that fear Him"; Psalm 25:14. The man Noah became a close confidant to God at a time when the whole world was filled with corruption. Like Moses, Noah did not allow the pleasure of his day to hinder his commitment to Godly living. He refused to operate with the mix multitude. He had the consciousness of what it requires to relate with the righteous God. He realised the fact that without holiness you cannot please God. It was not a surprise that God spared him and his family when the flood swept off the entire world that He created. He walked with God by faith. No wonder Noah was named among the Heroes of faith in Hebrews 11:7.
God is looking for people like Noah who will decide to be upright in the midst of corruption in the world. People who will not substitute righteous living with the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and pride of life. Rather, he is committed to living in obedience to divine instruction even when he was not sure of the outcome. God is looking for a man or woman like Noah who stood by faith and was not afraid of the repercussion (if any) of standing alone with God. Noah's righteousness paid off because he and his family obtained favour from God and were rescued from the flood. Why are you afraid to stand for Christ? Is it because of name calling or the fear of rejection by friends or peer group? Where have you failed God? You must be determined to repent and ask God for help. Christ is coming back soon, only those who are ready to stand for Him will be rapturable. Jesus is the Ark of salvation. He is waiting for you. Come to Him just as you are, He will accept you.

Father help me to walk in your fear and live a blameless life, in Jesus name.
Father make the Christian family pointer to righteousness, in Jesus name.
Father let your light shine out of my darkness, in Jesus name.
Father awaken the consciousness of your church to the great commission, in Jesus name.
Father restore the lost glory of our nation, in Jesus name.
