Not By Size But By God's Grace

Today’s Reading:

1 Sam.16: 11-13 (v.13)

"And Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So, Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah." (v.13)

We humans tend to fall short concerning physical judgement of people. Our brains instantly picked, assess and judge.

Job 34:21 says, "for his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings." “All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weighteth the Spirits.” (Provs. 16:2)

It was rather strange that Samuel, who had been so disappointed in Saul whose countenance and stature recommended him, should judge of another man by that rule. We can tell how men look, but God can tell what they are. He judges men by the heart. God says "I the Lord search the heart, I try the rein..." Jer.17:10.

All Jesse's elder sons are passed by and David the youngest is pitched upon and anointed.

* Are you still doubting if God can use you for His Glory?

* Are you feeling worthless?

* Are you feeling unqualified?

* You feel you are the worst sinner?

" what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visits him?" I tell you now, It is called GRACE.

* Envelope of God's favour.

*Divine privilege.

*Divine lubrication.

*Open heavens.

* Preferential treatment from heaven.

David has that Upon his life.

YOU PRAY FOR IT; YEARN FOR IT.

Create in me a clean heart O God; and renew a right Spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence ; and take not thy Holy Spirit from... Psalm 51:10-12.

Let this be your daily cry throughout this year. For the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, the Lord will not despise.

Accept Jesus into your life as your Lord and Saviour.
