Today's Reading:
Peter1:1-11
We are told in verse three of Today’s Reading “that according as His Divine power, God hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue."
Here we discovered that to make our calling and election sure we need to have the knowledge of God. The knowledge of God will reveal who He is to us, for us to take position in Him. Knowledge about who God is will make our election and calling sure, create our awareness of God, acknowledge Him, have general understanding of Him, information about Him, become familiar with Him and so on. The knowledge of Him is what made the people in the Bible days even in this contemporary world to succeed in their relationship with Him. Abraham had knowledge of God by faith, and it was counted for him as righteousness. Moses, Joshua, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Elisha just to mention but few, all succeeded in their work through their knowledge of God.
No wonder in Ephesians1:17, brother Paul in his admonition to the Ephesians, said "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him". To be able to operate in the knowledge of God you need to be diligent, faithful to Him, dwell in His virtues, temperance in behaviour, patient, brotherly kindness, and brotherly charity. For if you have all these things, you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off.

Prayer:
Oh God my Father, increase my knowledge of You, in the name of Jesus.
Father, that I may know Christ, and the power of His resurrection, in Jesus name.
Oh God my Father open my Spiritual understanding in the name of Jesus.
Oh God my Father, give me a humble and a contrite heart to follow you, in the name of Jesus.
Father Lord, visit Christian families with your reconciling power, in the name of Jesus.
Our Father and our God, break and destroy the power of jinx, bewitchment, evil control and the lust for material acquisition and money in the lives of our leaders, give them discerning spirit and a heart to understand good and bad, in Jesus name.
