Today’s Reading:
Ephesians 2:1-9
“But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead” (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved). (v. 4-5 NLT)
A life without Christ is spiritually dead. He is like a condemned criminal waiting for execution with no hope of freedom. God who is rich in mercy sent Jesus as ransom to die for our sins. The Lord commends His love towards us in that while we were yet sinner Christ died for us. What a great privilege to obtain mercy for sin through our Lord Jesus Christ. He saved us by grace through faith and not by works. If salvation were to have been by works of righteousness several people will not be qualified because the Bible says, “our righteousness are as filthy rag before God.” Isaiah 64:6.
Sin came to the world as a result of the disobedient act (sin) of one man (Adam) which brought death to all men. Man became separated from the life of God and lived a life outside His purpose following the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, gratifying the cravings of our flesh, its thoughts, and desires. We all lived the life deserving God’s wrath and judgement. Instead, God in His great love and mercy forgave us, made us alive again through the atoning sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
He also gave us a new status, repositioning us in Him when He raised us up together from the dead and made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; a place of authority as sons of God. “Now God has us where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus” ( Eph. 2:7 MSG). This has always been God’s desire all along. It is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God Eph. 2:8.Without Christ, you shall be eternally separated from God. It is appointed for man to die once after death there is judgement. Have you been washed in the blood of the Lamb? He is waiting to give you a new life. “if any man is in Christ, He is a new creature old things are passed away. Behold all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Father let me experience your resurrection power, in Jesus name.
Father give me the grace to consistently live in newness of Christ, in Jesus name.
Father turn sorrow to joy for every household of faith, in Jesus name.
Father make your church a pillar of righteousness to the world, in Jesus name.
Father, let righteousness reign in our nation, in Jesus name
