Today’s Reading:
John 20:11-20
Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.”
(v. 17, IKJV)
You cannot cling to or have a love for Jesus unless you have an encounter with Him. Many of us promised Jesus when we first had encountered Him that His love will continue to burn in our hearts. What is your state of love for Jesus? Mary Magdalene had an encounter with Jesus when seven spirits were cast out from her (Mark 16:9) since when she had this encounter, Christ love never quenched from her heart.
In John 20:17, “Jesus saith unto her, touch me not;” since Mary Magdalene met Jesus, the love of Christ and love for Christ remain in her because she remains in Christ. Many of us when we first met Christ, had a love for Jesus, but when we get what we want from Him, the love disappears. Mary Magdalene became an object of the divine instrument in God’s hand. She was the one that first saw Jesus after the resurrection and brought the good news to the disciples, because of her love for Christ. Are you an instrument in God’s hand? Is your love for Christ growing every day? Remember the Bible says, “For the love of Christ compel us…” (2Corin 5:14). If Christ’s love compels us by dying for all, we should no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who died for all and rose again.
A heart of eternity is a heart of love for Jesus Christ.

Father, thank You for the love of Christ, in Jesus name.
Father, that I may know Christ, and experience His Resurrection power, in Jesus name.
Holy Ghost fire, laminate my body, soul and spirit, in Jesus name.
Father, uproot anything you have not planted in Your Church, that is hindering the proclamation of the gospel, revive your work, and let Your kingdom come, in Jesus name.
Lord Jesus, with Your iron rod, break the backbone of oppression in the nations of the world, let Your plan for the nations of the world be fulfilled, especially our nation Nigeria, in Jesus name.
