Today’s Readings:

Acts 5;27-33

Psalm 34:2,9,17-20

John 3:31-36

“Now the will of him who sent me is that I should lose nothing of all that he has given to me, and that I should raise it on the last day.” (John 6:39)

These words ring in my mind every single day. It is a call to responsibility, accountability, duty, and to understand that there is a lot at stake. You and I are entrusted with some responsibility. The first of which is yourself. God has entrusted to you the care of your mind, body and soul. It is your responsibility to bring yourself (spirit, soul and body) safely into heaven (1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24). You also must bring everyone you would come in contact with, either physically or virtually, into heaven. It is your immediate and primary responsibility to bring your family into heaven. This is non-negotiable—the salvation of your soul and the souls of everyone you will come in contact with are non-negotiables.

How do we ensure that we carry out this task excellently?

  • You are created in God’s image and likeness.

  • You are baptised and given a responsibility to spread the Kingdom of God, the news of Jesus’ resurrection and reveal God’s glory (through your good deeds) wherever you find yourself.

  • You have a vocation in the Church; you have a calling upon your life. Your calling is either to the priesthood and religious life or to the married state. How are you preparing yourself for your vocation? How are you living it out?

  • There is no room for carelessness in your ideas, speech and behaviour. Understand your identity and mission in the world.

  • You are living out an agenda (either for God or the Devil). If you are not consciously living for

God, you are unconsciously an agent of darkness to kill, steal and destroy.” (John 10:10). There is a calling on your life. No matter what the evil one does, he shall never prevail against you. But you must never give him any chance. He will come through the voices you trust the most and lure you into actions which glorify him. Do not conform to worldly standards—live for God and lose nothing of what He has placed in your care. ‘Nothing supposes spoil for ya hand.’

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Eternal Father, I recognise now that there is a call upon my life in my current state of life. I am sorry for the times I have allowed the evil one to take advantage of my carelessness. I consecrate myself anew to you. Fill me afresh with the power of your Holy Spirit. Prepare me for the mission you have set out for me. Use me for your mighty works. May I lose nothing of all that you have given me, but keep it safe unto eternal life. Amen.

  2. Eternal Father, I am Your child. I bear Your image. I carry grace. I am filled to the overflow with favour. By Your grace, I shall secure territories for You. Nothing shall die in my hands. The enemy shall never overcome and suppress me. I have Your Son and so much more. Amen.
